FAMILY MEDICINE APPROACH OF THE CHILDREN AGED 1 YEARS WITH BRONCHOPNEUMONIA AND MILD MALNUTRITION

Abstract

Background : In Indonesia, the national prevalence of upper respiratory tract infection reached 25.5%, the morbidity rate of 2.2% in infants, toddlers 3%, and the infant mortality rate of 23.8%, 15.5% infants (Riskesdas, 2007). In addition to infections caused by bacteria, environmental conditions and nutrition also affect the occurrence of bronchopneumonia. Case. A toddler, female, 12 months Weight 7.2 kg, with bronchopneumonia accompanied malnutrition status Weight /Age <-2SD, weight / height <-2SD. It’s done to analize the causes of the diseases, such as underlying disease or other risk factors that cause disease patients. Performed using the Denver II developmental test. Furthermore, the disease is given by management of non-medical and medical. Do patient education about the disease and the importance of parenting and improving personal hygiene. Results obtained in the form of shortness of breath with a productive cough and fever disappeared but the patient experienced weight still increased.Conclusion: The cause of bronchopneumonia experienced patients related to nutrition and health of poor home environments.
