TYPE II DIABETES MELLITUS WITH OBESITY GRADE I IN ELDERLY WOMAN

Abstract


Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristic hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion, insulin action or both. DM ranks  6th leading cause of death world. The cause of type 2 diabetes is influenced by lifestyle. Case. A woman, aged 58 years, came with complaints of perceived body felt weak ± 3 days before the patient came to the clinic. Body felt weak although the patient was eating regularly. Complaints also accompanied by patterns of urination is more frequent at night and thirst more than usual. Patients already affected by diabetes since 2011 and has been on treatment in the clinic but not regularly. Blood sugar levels can not be controlled properly. Patient still can not properly regulate her diets and regular exercises. In patient family doesn’t have diabetes mellitus, hypertension, or stroke. Conclusion. Have made ​​the application of Medicine Evidence-based care in elderly female patients with type II diabetes mellitus and obesity grade I, by identifying risk factors and clinical issues as well as management of the patient based on the patient's problem-solving framework.
