ATOPIC DERMATITIS MANAGEMENT IN CHILDREN UNDER FIVE WITH FAMILY HISTORY OF ATOPY

Abstract


Atopic Dermatitis  in Indonesia is ranked first of the top ten children's skin disease. Bandar Lampung showed that Atopic Dermatitis is the second Dermatitis most often affects Bandar Lampung’s people. Atopic Dermatitis is chronic residif and multifactorial that can burden the family and community. Application of family medical care based on evidence in patient with identification of risk factors, clinical factors, patient management  and family centered approach. A female children under five had Atopic Dermatitis lived with extended family in a permanent home at medium crowd residential and socio-economic situation was rather good. Identification of early holistic diagnosis was acquired fear pain did not improve, worsen disease, hoping to recover, the age of the children not yet cognitively competent, history of atopy in patients and families, lack of family knowledge about the disease and psychosocial problems in the family. Treatment provided to patients is hydrocortisone ointment 1 % twice a day and chlorpeniramine maleate 3x⅓ tablets per day. Treatment given to family is education to overcome the problem of knowledge and motivation to overcome psychosocial problems. The last holistic diagnosis showed the patient's complaint does not felt anymore and family knowledge has increased.
