THE CORRELATION FACTORS OF HEALTH SERVICE ACCORDING TO MOTHER SELECTION OF BIRTH ATTENDANT IN WEST TELUK BETUNG, BANDAR LAMPUNG

Abstract


The maternal mortality rate ( MMR ) is one indicator for measuring the maternal health. The facts show more than about 350,000 mothers in the worldwide die every year, the complication resulting from pregnancy and childbirth. The high maternal mortality cases are identified as an indirectly result from three conditions; delayed to know the signs of emergency and late in taking the decisions at the family level, was late in reaching the health service, and was late in getting an adequate medical aid. Aid delivery by health services with obstetrics core competence in health facilities has been associated with health services policy program in an effort to decrease the maternal mortality rate. The purposes of this research is to know the relations factors of health service according to mother selection of birth attendant in West Teluk Betung, Bandar Lampung 2012. This research is observational with cross sectional methode and the number of samples are 170 people. The samples were taken from mother that delivered in health care provider and non-health care provider. The result analysis shows there are a correlation between selection the birth attendant with the health care provider (p=0,001, OR=5,57). Health care provider as the most dealing factor for selection the birth attendant.
